Educational Instructor-Led Training E-Seminars
What if you could get expert training without leaving the office? Now you don't have to sacrifice valuable office time to get the knowledge you need. With instructor-led training, you get convenient instruction through a live session that can be scheduled and delivered to your workstation through the Web. An instructor will present a topic and remain available through interactive conferencing for a real-time question-and-answer session. All you need is a browser and Internet connection to get started!

Educational Web Seminars E-Library
Web-based seminars are an easy way to obtain training in specific topics related to Badger products. Since your staff can attend training on your premises over the Web, these seminars are both cost-efficient and time-efficient. The E-Library is a subscription-based library of tutorials captured live and delivered to your workstation as on-demand streaming video, which allows students to navigate to any part of the recorded tutorial at will. Topics range from fundamentals to advanced techniques from our experts so users can build a personal curriculum.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS
Registration:
  1. Register for a course on our website or via telephone with a sales representative.
  2. Choose the class that you would like to attend.
  3. Provide payment for the class (credit card preferred).
  4. A confirmation letter and materials are sent to the email and shipping addresses that you provide.
  5. A special invitation to attend the training sessions with URL instructions and the telephone number for the audio is sent to your email address.

Attending Class:
  1. From your computer, sign into the environment 10 minutes prior to class to have time to download the plug-in. (It’s from Webex a trusted provider of this environment.)
  2. At the completion of sign-in, you are brought into the Badger Meter Training Center environment.
  3. Dial the conference line to hear the audio and begin taking your class.
  4. Each class begins with a quick overview of the environment to make you comfortable with what to do.
  5. Relax and enjoy your class – work, ask questions, and complete each exercise.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is Virtual Training right for me?
It may be exactly what you want. Because classes are offered by topic, you can choose to focus your learning on a specific aspect of the product.

How will I get hands-on practice?
Badger classes are designed to provide hands-on practice as a key part of the learning experience. You will log into our virtual learning environment.

Will I get bored?
Classes have been designed to address topics from our full-day classes and have a seat time ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Just like a face-to-face class, you will be given breaks, engaged with exercises, and have the ability to ask questions of the trainer (privately and publicly).

How will I hear the trainer?
Each class is assigned a telephone number for the audio. You dial into it just like attending a conference call.

How will I ask questions?
The environment has been designed to mirror the best features of classroom learning while adding features specific to the Internet. Just like in a classroom, you can get the instructor’s attention by raising your hand. The instructor sees an icon on screen next to your name that indicates that you have a question. If you’d like to ask your question privately, you can select the instructor from a drop-down list and chat privately without others hearing or reading your comments.

What type of materials will I receive?
You will receive a PDF copy of our course materials about the topic that you are learning. Just like a standard course book, it will have all lecture and handouts.

What will I need?
You will need a computer, a telephone, and a quiet space to work.

Will you still offer public classes?
Absolutely, we will continue to offer public courses. Classrooms are very effective learning environments and represent the learning style of many students.

TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL ON-LINE LEARNING:
  1. When taking an on-line class from your office, it is important to be able to focus on the course, material and instructor. We recommend the following:
  2. Quiet Place. Reserve a quiet place to take your class. (Schedule a conference room with Internet access and telephone line or close your office door).
  3. Do Not Disturb. Let others know that you are taking a class and should not be disturbed. (Place a sign on the door that says “In training, Do Not Disturb.”
  4. Engage. Stay engaged – ask questions, complete exercises, complete all pre-work assignments.
  5. Manage your time well. Return from breaks on-time!. Avail yourself of lab times and sessions.
  6. Don't multi-task. Concentrate on the instruction provided. Don't do email, make calls or read other material. You'll get more from the session if you stay focused on the session.
