Industry experts from Malcolm Pirnie, Badger Meter and four utilities to share technical know-how and best practices

MILWAUKEE – Utility personnel will learn how technologies can help them become more efficient at the 2013 American Water Works Association Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE13) Technical Session hosted by Badger Meter (NYSE: BMI). The three-hour session, “TUE08 – Improving Operations Management through Information Integration” will take place on Tuesday, June 11 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. All individuals with valid ACE13 registration for Tuesday may attend this session.

“Having worked with hundreds of utilities to deploy automated metering solutions, we understand that each utility has its own unique requirements,” says John Fillinger, who is the session moderator and director of Utility Marketing at Badger Meter. “In an environment where utilities are continually pressured to do more with less, combining the right metering technologies with the right software can drive accurate and reliable information to help utilities monitor and control their systems.”

The session will include three 45-minute presentations, each followed by 15 minutes of questions and answers. In the first section, presented by Steve Davis, P.E., BCEE, vice president, Malcolm Pirnie – The Water Division of ARCADIS, participants will learn how to evaluate and select appropriate metering technologies to help ensure data integrity. In the second section, Morrice Blackwell, marketing manager, Badger Meter, will illustrate how business software applications use metering system information to help utilities make effective business decisions. Integrating information through analytics software can help with customer service, revenue management, operations management, water and energy conservation, and regulatory compliance. In the final section, four panelists from utilities that have implemented AMR/AMI/AMA systems will share their real-world success stories in water management.
