BEACON® Advanced Metering Analytics (AMA) cloud-based software suite offers a wide choice of traditional fixed network, mobile and consumer engagement solutions to meet your meter reading and reporting needs. BEACON AMA utilizes our proven ORION® family of endpoints to capture interval meter reading data through cellular, fixed network or mobile communication technologies. The data is then transmitted using secure encryption to ensure it is sent and received reliably to provide utilities with increased visibility, a focus on water management and integration with billing systems.
Previously, an Arkansas water utility read its 14,000 meters once per month with a drive-by AMR system—the process took 20 days to complete. The utility upgraded to a smart water metering system, which has enabled them to complete daily meter reads at a 99.9% to 100% success rate.
