Feedback. When you provide comments or feedback about our Website, the Services, or our products or services ("Feedback"), we will not treat that Feedback as confidential and we may use that Feedback for any purpose in our sole discretion so long as it does not personally identify you. Cookies. In order to gather more information about Website usage, our Website uses various types of cookies, pixel tags, web beacons and other tracking mechanisms. We use third parties and/or service providers to help us set cookies and provide us with information received by those cookies. A “cookie” is a small text file that our Website saves onto your computer or device when you use the Website. The cookie provides us certain information about your activities when using our Website. Cookies remember your actions and preferences and recognize you or your browser, along with some information you provide. The Services automatically use cookies to facilitate and enhance your user experience.

First Party and Third Party Cookies. Cookies may either be “first-party” or “third-party” cookies. First-party cookies are set by Badger Meter on its own Website. Third-party cookies are set by a third-party or service provider on Badger Meter's Website.

What is Collected and Why? We use cookies and other tracking technologies to learn whether the Website is operating optimally, to learn whether you are a repeat visitor to our Website, for personalized advertising, to provide us with valuable data and statistics about the usage and effectiveness of our Website, and to enable us to provide an enjoyable, personalized and innovative online experience for you. We may combine information gathered from cookies with other Personal Information.

Generally, the type of information we collect through cookies is specific to your computer or other device and includes the IP address, date and time the device accessed our Website, what parts of our Website were visited, your internet services provider, the device ID number, approximate geographic location, browser type, the websites you visit before and after coming to our Website, and whether the web pages requested were delivered successfully. We also use cookies to keep user preferences, such as “My Favorites.”

How Long do Cookies Last? The Website uses session cookies and persistent cookies:

• Session Cookies exist only for so long as you are visiting the applicable website and are typically deleted when you exit your web browser

• Persistent Cookies either do not have a set expiration date, or exist for a set period of time such as several months or years. Each time you visit a website that has implemented a persistent cookie, the persistent cookie is renewed and that cookie will remain active until its predetermined expiration date or until you manually delete such cookie. You can manually delete persistent Cookies through your browser settings.

Disabling Cookies. Most browsers automatically accept cookies. You can disable this function, but disabling cookies may impact your use and enjoyment of the Website. Not all features or functions of the Website may work properly if you disable cookies. You cannot disable all cookies, such as cookies that are essential to the functioning of the Website.

DO NOT TRACK. SOME BROWSERS HAVE A “DO NOT TRACK” FEATURE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO TELL A WEBSITE THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE YOUR ONLINE ACTIVITIES TRACKED. OUR WEBSITE IS CONFIGURED TO HONOR “DO NOT TRACK” REQUESTS.

Pixel Tags. Certain pages on our Website contain “pixel tags” also known as internet tags, web beacons and clear GIFs. A pixel tag is a small graphic image placed on the web page designed to allow us to monitor and obtain information about our Website traffic, such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the tag appears, the URL of the page, the time the page was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in cookies set by vendors we use to assist us with advertising to you. We also use pixel tags to recognize a unique cookie on your web browser, which enables us to learn which advertisements brought you to our Website.

Analytics Tools We Use. The following is a list of the tools our Website uses to help gather more information about site usage:

  • Collection of data through the Internet Service provider (IP address, time, location, browser, etc.)
  • Website forms
  • Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google AdWords and conversion tracking
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn and LinkedIn Insights
  • YouTube
  • Pardot Activity Tracking
  • D&B Visitor Intelligence

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), to collect and process information about your use of the Website. Google sets cookies and then your web browser will automatically send data (including your IP address) to Google. Google uses this data to provide us with reports that we use to improve the Website’s structure and content.

We may implement additional add-on services to Google Analytics, such as Demographics and Interest Reporting. Demographics and Interest Reporting uses Cookies to collect data about our Website traffic by tracking users across websites and across time to provide us with analytics on our user base.

To learn more about how Google uses data, visit Google’s privacy policy. You may download the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for each web browser you use, but this does not prevent the use of other analytics tools.

Interest Based Advertising. Badger Meter uses vendors to help it provide online behavioral advertising (also called "targeted advertising" or "interest based advertising") which is the practice of tracking an individual's online activities over time, including searches the person conducts, webpages visited and content viewed in order to deliver targeted advertising based on the person's interests. The data collected may contain, or be associated with, your Personal Information. These advertisements may appear on the Website and on other websites, or may be sent to you via email.

Most third-party advertising networks permit you to opt-out of targeted advertising by clicking on the displayed icon within the advertisements. Your opt-out choices may be affected by your use of a specific device, your browser settings or your log-on credentials. Please refer to the website that you are visiting, your browser settings and/or your device settings for additional information. Opting-out will not prevent you from receiving advertisements completely, only targeted advertisements based on your online behavior.

Further, an opt-out only applies to the web browser from which you opted out, so you must opt-out of each web browser on each device that you use. Once you opt out, if you delete your browser's saved cookies, you may need to opt-out again. Even if you opt-out, data may still be collected about you for the purposes of analytics. If we use several advertising networks, opting-out of one program does not opt you out from receiving advertising from other programs.

To learn more about interest based advertising, please visit the Digital Advertising Alliance, Network Advertising Initiative, Digital Advertising Alliance-Canada, European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance or your device.

We use Google Ads to serve ads across various websites. Google uses Cookies to collect data about your visits to the Site to generate targeted advertisements to you on other websites that you visit. To opt-out of this type of advertising by Google, to customize your ad preferences, or to limit Google’s collection or use of such data, visit Google’s Safety Center and Google’s Ad Settings and follow Google’s personalized ad opt-out instructions. Opting out will not affect your use of the Site."

Google Analytics. In addition to the standard language that is already in your privacy notice, Google's terms require you to mention any of the add-on services you use. Add the following language for any GA add-ons you use (also keep intact the existing GA language that's already in your privacy policy):

Badger Meter may implement additional ad-on services to Google Analytics, such as:

  • Demographics and Interest Reporting, which gathers information such as the age and gender of users from other websites, along with certain interests those users express through their purchasing activities and other online activities, by tracking users across websites and across time.
  • Remarketing with Google Analytics, which uses user behaviors on our Site to help us identify users for our remarketing campaigns.
  • Google Display Network Impression Reporting, which provides us information about how often our ads are shown.

Video. The Website contains videos and embedded content provided by Badger Meter and its vendors, including visible content and/or feeds scripts embedded in the Website's code. Badger Meter and such other parties may collect data about how you interact with such content (e.g., YouTube may collect usage data on videos embedded on the Website as described in YouTube’s privacy policy). Even if you do not watch videos, YouTube may still collect certain information about your interactions with our Website if you are signed into your YouTube account or Google account when accessing our Website. YouTube, LLC is owned by Google. Please see Google's privacy policy for more information.

Q4 Inc. and Stock Information. When you use the Website, Q4 Inc. may collect certain Personal Information and other information about you and your interactions with the Website. Please see their Privacy Policy for more information.
