Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide is used within water and chemical treatment processes for disinfection and bleaching applications.

Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is an extremely strong oxidizer that is typically harmful to human health. Used in combination with ozone or UV light in advanced oxidation processes, it removes trace organic compounds that cause taste and odor issues, biological growth and can also be used for the removal of iron and hydrogen sulfide.

Residual Hydrogen Peroxide is typically removed from treated water via Chlorine quenching to protect human health. Quantities need to be carefully monitored, controlled and adjusted to provide a sufficient amount to achieve treatment goals, while making sure residual concentration is minimized.

Efficient dosing of both hydrogen peroxide and chlorine can be accomplished by monitoring the hydrogen peroxide concentration in real-time at a location downstream of the application point. Concentrations exceeding a pre-determined threshold would indicate overdosing, allowing for the quantities to be adjusted.
