ModMAG® M2000 Electromagnetic Flow Meter: Designed for Demanding Applications

Are you looking to reduce costs, comply with regulations or upgrade to the latest technology without significant modifications to your system? The ModMAG® M2000 electromagnetic flow meter offers enhanced data points and provides dependable performance with zero straight run requirements.

ModMAG® M2000 Electromagnetic Flow Meter:

M2000 Meter Benefits

Mechanical contractors, controls contractors, operators and technicians can install the M2000 meter without significantly modifying their applications, saving time and installation costs. Additional benefits include:

Zero Straight Run

The M2000 meter measures the flow of water and conductive liquids with zero straight run required. Its performance has been validated to OIML/MID standards, providing accuracies of ±1% with zero straight run up or down or ±0.2% with required straight run. Both accuracy ratings are available out of the box, without needing firmware adjustments.

Precision

Delivers accurate measurements up to ±0.2% with required straight run or ±1% with zero straight run requirements. With precise data, facility operators can reduce energy expenses and optimize processes in plant influent, lift station, chemical injection and other key applications.

Enhanced Data

This meter is available with Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, EtherNet/IP and HART communication protocols and integrates into existing operations to provide enhanced data points.

Application Versatility

Accurately measures water, wastewater, water-based fluids and other liquids with minimum electrical conductivity, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

New Communications Protocols Available

The M2000 meter is now available with Modbus TCP/IP and EtherNet/IP communication protocols.

Existing M2000 meters can be retrofit with these protocols using an upgrade kit—installation takes a single user less than 30 minutes.

Chemical Injection

Electromagnetic flow meter application in data center.

  • Flexible: Water treatment operations involve numerous steps for adding chemicals to water in various treatment tanks. The M2000 meter is an effective measurement tool for these operations since it only requires a short length of pipe for inline installation and has no moving parts, minimizing the need for service and maintenance.

  • Capable: Water treatment plant operators must accurately monitor the flow and totalization of coagulant, pH adjuster, stabilizer, corrosion agent, fluoridation and disinfectant added to the treatment tank, as well as the flow and totalization of disinfectant added to the filtration tank and clarifying agent added to the flocculation treatment tank. Thanks to its NSF approval, the M2000 meter can be used with confidence in all potable water applications.

  • Efficient: With the right flow measurement solution, water treatment plant operators can achieve better chemical system management to lower their chemical treatment costs. Using a precision measurement device like the M2000 meter, they can obtain the information needed to determine the correct amount of chemical agent for injection, and where the chemical should be applied.

Lift Stations

Electromagnetic flow meter application in lift station

  • Rugged: Communities with large residential and commercial complexes discharging to a lift station cannot afford extended downtime for maintenance, repairs or substantial modifications for the installation of new equipment. The M2000 meter carries an IP68 rating and has been tested for up to 72 hours in the submersible conditions commonly found in below-grade lift station vaults, whereas most competitive products are only tested for 24-48 hours.

  • Accurate: The measurement of flow in lift stations provides important reference points for billing processes, evaluating pump efficiency and planning maintenance programs. The M2000 meter provides high accuracy up to ±0.2% with required straight run or ±1% with zero straight run requirements. Its robust diagnostics, air-gapped alarms and other advanced features enable the highest level of flow measurement performance.

  • Proven: Flow monitoring is the first step in identifying inflow and infiltration to determine where problems are occurring in order to isolate basins with concerning characteristics. The M2000 meter is now available with Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, EtherNet/IP and HART communication protocols and offers connectivity to BEACON® Software as a Service or AquaCUE® Flow Measurement Manager via cellular-enabled endpoints.
