Chlorine Dioxide Gas

Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) is a yellow to red manufactured gas with an unpleasant odor, used as a disinfectant that kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Chlorine Dioxide Gas
CIO2 is commonly used to disinfect drinking water. It is effective as an anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, fungicidal, and viricidal agent, as well as a deodorizer, and can inactivate beta-lactams and destroy both pinworms and their eggs. Exposure to Chlorine Dioxide can irritate the skin, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, causing coughing, wheezing or shortness of breath.

It is important to monitor Chlorine Dioxide levels due to its effect on human health. If the parts per million (PPM) exceed certain thresholds, it can result in negative implications. Installing accurate, reliable and continuous monitoring is important to avoid reaching dangerous and toxic levels.
